Sunday, March 9, 2025, 6:00 PM

Join Grammy-nominated composer Carlos Simon, Executive Director of the Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts (CAAPA) Terri Allen, Black Music Historian Dr. Nevilla Ottley, and award-winning composer Fred Onovwerosuoke (FredO) for an engaging, free panel discussion ahead of our Ruth Bader Ginsburg Memorial Recital, ”African Queens,” on March 9. Panelists will delve into the music and historical narratives that shape the pieces you will hear in the recital. Space is limited and advance registration is required.

Take Note is a free educational series coordinated by the Washington Performing Arts Junior Board to offer information about the history of the music performed.
