Zakir Hussain and Masters of Percussion
Wednesday, April 16, 2025 / 7:00 p.m.
Kennedy Center Concert Hall
Renowned classical tabla virtuoso Zakir Hussain captivates Washington Performing Arts audiences season after season with his dynamic, genre-defying programs and compelling collaborations. For the first time live in nearly a decade, Hussain presents his Masters of Percussion program with Washington Performing Arts, featuring a stage full of percussionists from around the world. Since 1996, this program has unearthed Indian folk and classical traditions to Western audiences and amplified the enthralling rhythm traditions of Hussain’s home country often mixed with Western influences. Masters of Percussion is a testament to Hussain’s lasting influence on global music, and further solidifies him as an international phenomenon.
This performance is an external rental presented in coordination with the Kennedy Center Campus Rentals Office and is not produced by the Kennedy Center.
